The interactive exhibition “Everyone Harvests” reflected on the works from the third Vertical Cities Asia International Design Competition. Vertical Cities Asia, an annual architecture and urban design contest, seeks innovation urban models for Asia’s rapidly expanding cities, addressing the increasingly vertical, dense and intense urban environments. It is hosted by the National University of Singapore’s School of Design and Environment, with sponsorship from Beijing Vantone Citylogic Investment Corporation and the World Future Foundation.
This exhibition employed the concept of “seeds” to interpret the competition’s theme, “Everyone Harvests”, exploring new urban agriculture models and diversified food sources, while factoring in energy, water and costs.

With all the “seeds”, we collectively envisioned the future of urban living in Asia, envisioning urban agriculture as one of the elements of urban planning that brings environmental, economic, and social benefits. Integrating agriculture with urban development was starting point to bring safe food, fair jobs and incomes, clean environments, and quality governance for the citizens of Asian countries, especially in the developing world.
